Lil Wayne made a surprised Twitter rant yesterday when he blasted Cash Money Records and his longtime friend and mentor Birdman.
Lil Wayne is basically saying that he wants to leave Cash Money and want nothing to do with the label and its execs.
The bad blood between Weezy and the label is over his oft-delayed Tha Carter V album, which is due for release on December 9. Wayne told his fans on twitter that Cash Money is holding him and his album hostage. He said he feels like a prisoner, but issued an apology to his fans for the long wait.
This is what he wrote on his official Twitter page.
“To all my fans, I want u to know that my album won’t and hasn’t been released bekuz Baby & Cash Money Rec. refuse to release it.”
“This is not my fault. I am truly and deeply sorry to all my fans but most of all to myself and my family for putting us in this situation.”
“I want off this label and nothing to do with these people but unfortunately it ain’t that easy.”
“I am a prisoner and so is my creativity Again,I am truly sorry and I don’t blame ya if ya fed up with waiting 4 me & this album. But thk u”

Lil Wayne is not the only one unhappy with Cash Money. Yyga recently put the label on blast saying they are also holding him hostage.
