‘Chronic laryngitis’ causes Dancehall Artiste Konshens to abort tour
It’s being reported that Konshens was forced to cancel the remainder of his current European tour as doctors have diagnosed the young star with having ‘chronic laryngitis’.
Konshens has been touring non-stop for the past year, starting with a stint in the USA, which ended in Connecticut, before embarking on a three-week run in France and the African south coast. From there he went on to join his band in Europe to kick off his official European tour at the Musa Festival in Portugal.
His team noted that the effects of a rigorous regimen of continued back-to-back performances took a toll on his voice, after his performance at the Summer Jam Festival before thousands of fans in the rain. The artiste was forced to see a specialist in Vienna, Austria who diagnosed him with ‘chronic laryngitis.’
The doctors in Vienna reportedly prescribed a significant amount of medication and, most importantly, two weeks of” serious rest.” He was soon back on stage, performing on several shows, however, until his voice finally gave out. He was also forced to visit a second specialist in Frankfurt, Germany where he was advised that if he continued, his condition could worsen and do lasting damage to his voice and hearing.
As a result, Konshens and his management team had no choice but to reluctantly cancel the remainder of the tour.
The artiste’s sophomore solo album titled ‘The Hotel Room’ is set for release in September.
