The management of  Fly Jamaica has shed light on the reasons for recent flight delays.

Last weekend a Guyana to New York flight was delayed for two days, this came on the heels of  a previous delay of a New York to Kingston flight.

Director of  Fly Jamaica Roxanne Reece, says the delays were due to maintenance issues.

“We take maintenance very seriously, we are registered with the FAA and we are also with the Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority, so we are being overlooked by two authorities, So we are very very careful and we follow all the rules and regulations

Concerning passengers on both flights that were delayed  – Fly Jamaica saidwhile passengers were inconvenienced it accommodated those affected.
On another matter, the Fly Jamaica Director, said the airline has not been negatively affected by the departure of  two senior managers and those positions have already been filled.
She says there is no need for the public to be concerned about the delays and the departure of  the executives.

“Not at all because one of those was a junior clerical person,  the other two one was the manager of in-flight services and the other was the flight operations manager. We have quickly replaced them and that happened several months ago. That was earlier in the year and has long gone and we have a very stable company, we have only had seven separations, including those,” Reece said
