Brazilian Star Striker Neymar hopes Messi wins in Sunday’s final
KINGSTON, Jamaica—While Brazilian star striker Neymar wished luck to both Germany and Argentina in Sunday’s World Cup final at the Estádio Maracanã, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil he hopes the South Americans will come out on top.
Though it has been said that the two South American nations are bitter rivals, Neymar’s preference came as a result of him playing at Barcelona with Argentina stars Lionel Messi and Javier Mascherano.
The 22-year-old said that he would not be cheering for Argentina but instead cheering for his teammates.
Neymar said that it would be good for football to have Messi winning a world title.
“He deserves to be a world champion,” he said.
