Usain Bolt captured the 100 metres at the London Diamond League meet on Friday, showing some race rust but still managed 9.87 seconds, which he also clocked in the heats.

Bolt got a disastrous start and struggled to pass his opponents, but with a last effort, surged ahead in the final 10 metres, to take the event.

Mike Rodgers of the USA was second in 9.90 seconds and Bolt’s Jamaican Racers Track Club teammate Kemar Bailey-Cole third in 9.92.

Bolt struggled to find form earlier this season. On Friday, he was returning to the track for the first time in nearly two months, during which he visited Germany for treatment to an injury.
