Ghanaian dancehall artiste feels disrespected by Luciano

Ghanian dancehall artiste Mykell O’mint, aka Jupitar, has accused Jamaican reggae singer Luciano of disrespecting dancehall acts in that African country.

According to a report in ghanaweb.com, the artiste is taking issue with Luciano for his comments about dancehall artistes not having a future.

The comments were allegedly made on Ghanian radio network, Hitz FM. Luciano reportedly said that dancehall artistes tend to lose their way over time, citing dancehall acts Vybz Kartel and Tommy Lee. According to Luciano, it was reported, some countries do not give opportunities to dancehall artistes due to their bad behavior.

“Dancehall music was there long ago and I will not be the one to stop it, but make sure you don’t mislead people. Reggae turn but Dancehall burn up! Don’t lose your way. Don’t lose your way I say,” Luciano reportedly said.

But Ghanaian singer Jupitar dismissed Luciano’s reasoning, adding that it is disrespectful for the Jamaican singer to come to Ghana and make those comments.
