Reggae Singer Freddie McGregor Recuperating After Suffering A Stroke

Veteran reggae artiste Freddie McGregor is reportedly at home recuperating after recently suffering a stroke in the United States.

Reports state that McGregor, CEO of the Big Ship record label, was hospitalised in a Florida hospital after he suffered a stroke on Monday but has since been released. According to the Jamaica Observer, guitarist/film and television composer Mark Leggett confirmed that the 66-year-old had a stroke but is currently doing fine and resting.

The Grammy-nominated reggae singer announced on November 8 that he would be joining British reggae band UB40 on their 45th-anniversary tour in December. But a few days before his medical emergency on November 23, UB40 revealed that McGregor would not be able to join them and expressed their hopes to perform with him soon.

“To all our fans, our good friend Freddie McGregor will not be joining us on our December arena dates in Leeds, Birmingham, and London. We look forward to seeing all the fans and performing with Freddie soon,” UB40 wrote on the group’s Instagram page.
