Marion Hall Comments On Spice’s New Crowning, Says Everyone Is A Queen

The “Queen of Dancehall” title that Lady Saw, now known as Minister Marion Hall held for several years has officially been passed down to her successor, Spice, who is deemed one of the most accomplished female entertainers in the genre out of Jamaica.

Recently, Minister Hall shared her thoughts about the new crowning with DancehallMag where she expressed that everyone is a queen and her crown is in heaven. She added that she is uninterested in the affairs in the Dancehall scene as she is now on a different path.

“It’s none of my business. I’m no longer apart of that scene. I’m not interested in that. We’re all queens and a queen sits high. My crown is in Heaven,” was the comment she made as posted by DancehallMag.

The former “Queen of Dancehall” also used the opportunity to urge female artistes in the genre to record more uplifting and positive songs, which is similar to what she did a few years back. In 2015, Hall turned a new chapter in life and ventured on the road to Christianity.

Before this, she was known for a variety of sexual and provocative singles such as, “Man is the Least”, “I’ve Got Your Man” and “Chat to Mi Back”, among many others.

Nonetheless, Spice has already been making her mark on both the international and local scene and is undeniably ready to show the world why she was bestowed with this highly acclaimed Dancehall title.

The “Go Down Deh” entertainer was officially crowned during the first night’s staging of Reggae Sumfest by Joe Bogdanovich, organizer of the event and CEO of Downsound Records.
