World/Jamaican Sprinter Shelly-Ann Fraser Finishes In Second Place

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce finished second with 22.79 seconds (1.3m/s) in the 200 metres at the National Stadium.

At the Velocity Fest 11 on Saturday, the World and Olympic champion opened her outdoor season with initially a quick start but her speed later slowed after leading the race to 170 metres. After she slowed down Bahamian Anthonique Strachan picked up the pace and won the race with a season’s best 22.55 seconds.

Natasha Morrison was placed third with 23.06 seconds.

Surprisingly, Shericka Jackson was not present at the race so the expected match between Shelly-Ann and Shericka that did not happen.

In regards to the men’s race, Antonio Watson claimed first place with 20.56 seconds (1.3m/s). Following his quick steps was Kishane Thompson with a personal best of 20.92 seconds and also Andel Miller at 20.97 seconds (1.8m/s) in third.
